Item of the month

The archaeological find of the month must undoubtedly be the fine silver coins made by the “Guldhornene” detector group from Lem in Vestsalling.
The Viking treasure consists of at least 214 Hedeby coins, two English and two German coins and some fragments of Arabic silver coins – the so-called dirhams.
The Hedeby coins were minted around the year 950 during the reign of the Viking king Harald Bluetooth, while the English and German coins are slightly younger.
